What is the gospel of grace? The gospel of grace is just an aspect of the gospel of Jesus. The gospel of grace provided the Lamb through which grace entered the world (John 1:17). John 8:11 sums up the gospel of grace in action: ‘She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more.”’ Important order: the woman caught in adultery first received unqualified forgiveness with no works involved; afterwards, she was told to “sin no more.” She was not told to first go dress better, clean up her act, make herself worthy, etc. The gospel of grace allowed for her not to be stoned even though the law demanded it.
