The Lord then said to Martin, ‘Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.’ Genesis 7:1
This reminds me that THIS is how GOD thinks of ME because I have accepted Christ’s payment on the cross for my sin.
“Then God blessed Martin, saying to him, ‘Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the earth.’” Genesis 9:1
“The Lord said to Martin, ‘Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.’” Genesis 12:1
YES, I remember when our family was first called to of California……..and nope, He did not tell us where we were going. This makes feel loved and special, God WANTS to use ME!
(Genesis 12:1 NLT) The LORD had said to Abram, “Leave your native country, your father’s relatives, and go to the land that I will show you.
Comment: Abram left everything behind and follow God’s calling and trusted in him.
(Genesis 14:21-24 NLT) Abram refuses the plunder from the Battle
(Genesis 15:1 NIV) After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision:
“Do not be afraid Abram. I am your shield, your very great reward”
Comment: Never be afraid what’s thrown at you. Whatever challenges or obstacles you take , for the LORD is with you. At the end of your victory, give all glory to God!
(Genesis 17:1-2 )Now when Abram was ninety years old, the LORD appeared to Abram and said to him, “I am God Almighty; Walk before me , and be blameless . I will establish my covenant between me and you, and I will multiply you exceedingly.”
“16 Those that entered, male and female of every creature, entered just as God had commanded him. Then the Lord shut him in.”
God shut them in.
I love the God shut them in. Made sure the door was shut so they would not drown. God takes care of us and makes sure that we are protected even when the storm is around us and tossing us around.
“18 Melchizedek, king of Salem,[d] brought out bread and wine; he was a priest to God Most High. 19 He blessed him and said:
Abram is blessed by God Most High,
Creator[e] of heaven and earth,
20 and blessed be God Most High
who has handed over your enemies to you.
And Abram gave him a tenth of everything.”
Precursor to communion and tithing. Predates the law. Points towards Jesus.
“6 Abram believed the Lord, and he credited it to him as righteousness.”
Grace!!!! When we believe God he credits it to us as righteousness. When we believe God we will act on that.
